Our Partners in Mission

Sign the KAIROS funding cuts petition.

On November 30, KAIROS received notice from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) that their project proposal for 2009-2013 was declined. This decision terminates a 35 year history of cooperation between CIDA and KAIROS and compromises the work of human rights and ecological integrity in the developing world.

LUTHERAN WORLD FEDERATION (LWF)

66 million Lutherans DO make a difference! The Lutheran World Federation is active with 140 member churches in 78 countries and representing 66 million Lutherans. We do make a difference!  The LWF began as a response to the critical need of Lutheran refugees in Europe following World War II.  Today that same commitment is lived out in many places around the world.  Share the excitement of the global work your congregation is part of as a member of the LWF. Resources for use in your congregation can be found throughout the year on the LWF
North American website http://www.elca.org/lwf. Weekly prayers are now posted for use in your congregation’s newsletter, web page or bulletin.

FAITH LENS: HELPING YOUTH CONNECT LIFE AND FAITH

Have you ever wondered how to help young people better understand their daily lives and world events in the context of their faith and scripture? Faith Lens, a free online weekly Bible study for youth (http://blogs.elca.org/faithlens), can do just that. Faith Lens is posted every week and connects a current news story with the lectionary texts for the upcoming Sunday. This includes a summary of a current news story, discussion questions, a reflection on the Gospel text, suggested activities, and links to related resources.
