In 2013, Oakridge Lutheran Church partnered with Catalyst Community Development Society to create a ground-breaking model combining below-market rental units, church space, and commercial areas. This visionary project reimagined the intersection of affordable housing, faith, and community services, offering a unique solution to urban living. Our building is named 'Hannelore' after Hannelore Gerlach who faithfully guided the project.
Since 2012, Oakridge Lutheran Congregation has proudly supported Covenant House, contributing to their mission of providing shelter, support, and hope to young people facing homelessness. firmly believes that every child deserves a safe, nurturing environment where they can heal, grow, and thrive.
In early 2025, Oakridge proudly partnered with Wycliffe Canada to help bring God’s Word to people in their language. With a passionate team of over 400 staff, volunteers, and interns, Wycliffe is involved in Scripture translation efforts for 268 language groups across 43 countries. They are changing lives and communities through the power of God’s Word.
In 2024, Oakridge Lutheran Church partnered with the Jalia Africa Foundation to send Solar Bibles to the Maasai people in Kenya, providing access to God's word in remote areas. We also contributed reusable napkins and women’s health training materials to support and empower women in the community.
